During the September School holidays the children at Nest Studio made their own watercolour paints, part science, part art - we had so much messy fun!
These paints are so easy to make and you only need a few ingredients you will most likely have in your kitchen already. This little project is great for children of all ages (with help from an adult to follow the recipe) and would make a great rainy day/summer holiday/gift giving project.
You will need
1 cup bicarb soda
3/4 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons glucose syrup
1 cup cornflour
yellow, red, blue & pink food colouring
spoons or popsticks for mixing new colours
plastic ice tray
Now follow the instructions below
Remember to mix all of the ingredients in small amounts at a time - slowly
These homemade paints will take a day or two to dry and need plenty of water and a good quality brush for painting with as the paints are a little thicker than commercial made paints.
Have fun xx
