Cooeeee!

Bib3

It appears I have taken quite a bit of an unplanned blogging break (three weeks, yikes!). But I am happy to report I am back and most inspired... I can thank Lisa and her adorable patchworking for that... the moment I saw that bib I grabbed my bag of scraps and got sewing... it was 10pm but I just had to finish before bed.. I didn't have time for patterns... you know that crafting urge (insanity) where you just need to get it done..no time for planning ... and I was only using scraps so if it didn't work out I was ok with that.

I just love it.. I like the organic shape... and the fact it uses up scraps... now I need my friends to start having babies so I can make more bibs.

Here are some little bits I brought home ... mmm lovely Liberty & funky Prints Charming (who have been picked up by Free Spririt... big congrats!)

I have also been busy organising Morphe II (I even got the first parcel of toys today... oh what fun!!) I am working on making this something worth looking at too... I will let you know when it's ready. Other exciting news is that I have been invited to exhibit my toys in an art exhibition in December, so it's go go go for the rest of the year. I promise not to leave you between posts for so long...

Cards are here!

We had a family day out this week, we drove over to McLaren Vale (wine region) for some afternoon tea and a bit of wondering. First stop was Blessed Cheese, where we ate way to much... and Moopy snuck around the table pinching things off our plates... she was welcome to eat from them but I think the fun part was darting around the table looking cheeky...

I had no intension on shopping but there was a cute little op shop and a shop with shoes and a shop with wool! Then we drove on to Willunga for a coffee at the WillyHill Cafe, nice atmosphere.

The woman who sold me the wool also happened to be the owner of the goats that made the wool... she has a great eye for colour, the wool is like a mohair/cashmere..... Chris picked these out for me to knit him a beeny..

I know I am a day early but I never get to join in on Friday because I am at the Shop all day, here is my WIP ... another Cheeky Moopy... the other one sold before it got a chance to hit the Shop (thank you)

Pre-Launch

Banner2

It is with much excitement that I can now reveal the super secret project I have been working on!

Bek and I have been working on reproducing some 60's/70's fabrics designed by Pamela Walker, she was a funky children's textile designer back in her day and we have been given permission to go ahead and reprint them! The exciting part is that we have an opportunity to also design our own textiles to add to Pam's range..... we will be choosing new colourways for the exsisting designs and creating a new set of designs to recreate a story that can be either bought by the metre for you to use and also we will be launching a super fun children's line of furnishings & clothing. How exciting is that! I just can't contain myself... I have been working on this for months now and it has been killing me, not being able to share all the fun... but from now on I can share all the goss with you. And it is great that I can share with the blogging world because out of all the people ... I know you guys will be the most excited.... MORE FABRIC! It will be 100% Australian designed & made, very important to us... and we will be using natural fibres. There is so much for us to learn and I am sure many mistakes will be made but we are having such a blast ... there are endless possibilites.

Sprout Design will be launching some greeting cards with a few of our textile designs on them very shortly ... so that you can get a taste of the action before the 2007 official launch.... I can't wait.

The cards will be a limited edition run so if you don't want to miss out email me with "sproutdesign mailing list" in the subject and I will let you know when pre-orders can be made.

I have a tiny teeny photo of one of the designs that will be coming out as a greeting card... did you guess it? Yes it is  a fish ... and the twist was that we were producing it on fabric!
