Morphe update

Mwa3

A bit of moral support for those who have the nasty task of sending in photos for Morphe.

Get all the latest on the morphe exhibition here! A little rushed but neststudio.com will be arriving shortly. The title morphe was chosen due to my fascination with Anthropomorphisism in children's literature, I started a thesis on the topic during uni but never finished it... I might have been Dr Schwerdt by now HA! :D

Back to regular craftyness soon.....
All the plush inspiration you need, check out the HUGE expo of toys in Ohio!

This is just the begining

How can this happen? How can I clean and tidy my studio and a week later it looks like THIS again!! It happens over and over and I just can't concentrate in this kind of chaos... It slows the whole family down because I can't find anything....for example our spare keys AND the actual keys are in here somewhere .... can you see them? No more blogging until this is in order...so see you soon (I hope)

Plenty more of where this came from..... this is just the door way!

Mess

I will leave you with a pic of some new flower brooches that are in the shop and bits & bobs of very fun stationery (that I will link to later...too much mess in here to think) that came in the mail this week YAH!

Goodies

What a blast

Boy am I worn out, the grand opening day was so much fun and the kids painted the most fabulous artwork, I can't wait to hang it on the classroom walls. Thanks to all the people who helped out and to the kids who joined in. Special thanks to Jasmin & Christy for their wonderful support and Bek for having such a super funky shop Closet to hang out in! The day was topped off by a surprise visit from Fiona & Audrey! It was so awesome meeting a fellow crafting, blogging mum from Adelaide and Audrey and Moopy are only a month apart in age... I can see many messy art days ahead for the both of them.

These pics will be up in the online gallery..... oh and how could I forget the yummy Martha Stewart apple cakes. Enjoy!

Almost there

Things are really starting to take shape in the 'artroom' after the long 'setting up' session there last night with my good friend Jasmine. Lily and Leilani had a practice run today....Lily enjoyed colouring her nose yellow! There are a few more things I need to organise... like the tracks that will run along the walls to hold up artwork and maybe some funky student made mobiles to hang from my awesome lightshades....um will try and find a link or take a photo.. I had two more last minute bookings today which is a great boost and will make Friday afternoons a real blast!

Well I am off to cook up some playdough and apple cupcakes for the open day...no doubt some of the littlies might not care to know the difference.

Get out the bubbles

Nest Studio has opened its doors today......well kind of ....there is no furniture or kids just yet, that will happen on May 2, but I do have keys and much furniture to 'do up' and a number of mums keen for classes. I will be selling some of the Nest Studio products now at Closet (the store directly in front of my class room) where Fiona link sells her georgous softies. did that link work?

(I have a mac ... this causes me dramas now and then... now is one of those moments, I wish I had Windows, only for a moment though....and could use wysiwyg to make links in this post.... and change colours and make things bold or what ever you PC gals are doing.)

Lets try the link thing for my fellow crafting/illustrating buddy over to your left........
at Button link I don't think this is working out terribly well...mmmm

I think I might just show a sneak peak of some Nest Studio gear thats up for sale. I made (with much help from aunty) a whopping 20 of these for Readings Books in Hawthorn for Christmas and they all sold out! yah.

Where's the green sheep

Lily_sheep_4

We're back! Yah I have my blog up for real now...testing stage is well and truely over and some time has passed .... many months infact, but the decision has been made to get this baby rocking.

Lily had her first appearance at a festival show today ... as part of the audience of "Where is the green sheep" a Windmill/Mem Fox/Come Out production. It was so much fun for Oma and I to watch her enjoy all the sheep looking, clapping and dancing. Not to mention all the children watching.. Lily was at times more interested in being friends with absolutely everyone rather than the green sheep hunting.

Bek's funky store 'closet' was on everyones tongues as Lily paraded around in her vintage kimono...Yah for Bek and Kit Cat & Hudson who make the exquisite garments. And while I'm plugging these awesome gals....Nest Studio is taking the plunge into the big world of leases and starting up art classes for children at the very hip strip, Queen Street, Croydon (also known as 20 Elizabeth Street). So all you toddlers, kiddlies and juniors out there, enrol for a term packed with all the art experiences you can handle.
