A bit of a change
I have given Moopy & Me a bit of a revamp.... feeling brighter... but not bright enough. I think I will keep working on it.... and a shop update is long over due too...what I have managed to figure out though is how to create a poll (over there to your right). Every couple of days or maybe after a week, I will change the poll to show the next 10 toys and once we get through them all, we can vote on the final 10...etc
I hope to have a few of these guys available for you when I update the shop.... I am also considering putting them on Etsy because even though I have my shop set up.... it can be really hard to manage it...I am not able to stop you guys from buying a dozen toys when only one is available.... unless I am at my computer 24/7 to check ... I am thinking Etsy will have a function where you tell it how many things you have and when that sells then the shop is empty.... you know what I am yabbering on about?
I want to take this opportunity to thank (xoxox) all the Morphe II artists & designers for participating in this years exhibition.... (please don't think I have forgotten you... or not loved your little pressies that were stuffed into the parcels). It has been so much fun and literally hundreds of people have come through to take a look, my favourite visitors are always the kids..... they have so much fun picking their faves and writing it down for the People's Choice comp. And lots of people have been coming back for a second and third look, saying that each time they come they see something new... My aim for the exhibition and why I decided to do it, is for the same reason any of you make things by hand... I want people to 'get it' get the concept of how special it is to make and receive handmade things ...especially toys (and the process is so much fun....finding just the right fabric...watching your sketches come to life..) Yes, Lily has a Stacie (Barbies little sister) and I have Blythe, so I am not saying there is no place for manufactured toys.... but really you can't compare the adorableness (again with made up words) of handmade. Adelaide is considered by many (especially marketing departments) to be very conservative so it is really awesome to see people come over to the studio... see the Morphe II toys and say "Wow so all these toys are handmade?.. oooh I love this one... so much nicer than 'store' bought, I will have to get one for my niece".... or the realisation that some of them could be hung on the wall as 'art'.
Sadly, Morphe II is drawing to a close but I have decided to keep the online shop up for an extra week because I took so so very long to upload it.. the new official closing date for online sales is November 9 (but for those of you who have bought toys... they will be coming down this weekend)
My head is in a funny place.... some projects finishing... super exciting projects just starting.. Christmas just around the corner (wait we have Moopy's birthday first!)... more Sprout fabric to design... my art class kids printing up sweet illustrations in my 7th term of business... wow! I bought an old copy of MS Kids (the first one, it didn't ever make it to Australia) off ebay just to see me through another season without it.... and hey that pineapple plant is still alive (you can see it up there).
