I can't get enough of Jenni Ropes artwork at the moment. It is full of all the things I love... watercolour on paper cut up into shapes, big brush strokes, sweet little doodles and dreamy colours.. AND Jenni has designed some fabric for Marimekko which I believe is a direct print of her paintings...
The girls and I planted some bulbs today... we snuck them around the garden in little secret spots .. I can't wait till spring! By then we will have forgotten all about them and they will pop up to surprise us.
We went for our last apple picking trip for the season too... and snatched up the last jar of apple jelly... Olive swung on the big rope all by herself and I started a quilt!
It's a very simple quilt but boy has it been a challenge, just purely for it's size, I got stuck into my stash, my favourite part about this quilt is the colours... I have tried very hard not to be too bright because this quilt will go on our couch to hide it's ... well loved condition. With both the girls being quite capable of destroying a piece of furniture in one foul milkdrink & peanut butter sandwich swoop (or black ink & paint or wee or permanent marker or... ), I can not be bothered buying a new couch, so a quilt should do the trick.
I still have some of the quilting part to go (the middle bit, jeesh that is tricky to get to) and the edges are looking a little bit wobbly now so some binding should diguise all that... but other than that it almost looks like a real life (single bed sized) quilt.

Wow! Thank you for the most gorgeous inspiration and I haven't even had breakfast yet. I hadn't seen Jenni's work before and I'm an instant fan. She even animates... oh be still my beating heart!
ps. love to see your new quilt when your all finished. : )

Your day sounds lovely. We plant bulbs ever year and forget about them - it makes Spring even more lovely to see them pop up! Looking forward to seeing your quilt.
