Good Ideas
It's not fabric... it's not even a photo of fabric (or a scan)...
It is a photo of a colour copy of fabric... and what about all the fun things you can do with this relatively inexpensive printing process ($2 a copy)?
Well I am making collaged invitations out of it and wrapping a certain little girls pressy with it..
But you could do adorable collaged illustrations, keep a record of your stash with out cutting it!! and buy some of this for Christmas wrap... oh the possibilities..... you could even simply pop it up on your inspirations board.
I randomly placed these fabrics (some of Lily's faves) in the machine and hey presto...
I cut out little girl bodies to make these 3rd birthday invites! So much fun... especially since I get the effect of the fabric without using it up. Now I am going to ring mum up to see if I can borrow (steal) her copy of the Woman's Weekly Cake book... if you live here in Aus then you know exactly what I am on about (I will take photos when I get it)... it's time for Lily to be introduced to the funnest (is that a word?) part of birthday preparation, choosing the CAKE!

Cuuute invite! Nice thinking with the fabric/paper. We've got the new edition of that ww book and Audrey is obsessed with it, Lily's going LOVE it! :)

i agree 100% that the colour copy idea is a great one! i've been color copying all sorts of things, vintage wrapping paper for paper swaps, collage to cards, paintings and even souvenier's that you'd like to share with friends but can't bear to let go of quite yet. collage can be so tiresome if you're always trying to come up with something original, i use a scrapbook/idea journal and color copy out of that for the big projects! your fabric thoughts/ideas are perfect too!

what a nifty and clever idea. I'd brush off my scanner if I had the desk space. The card is so sweet.

That invite is truly cool. I think you are very brave getting into the WW cake book - I have to get the mother in law to make them!

Damn, Carly, you are some Crafty Mum.
I have my daughter's birthday party next week, and so far all I've done is have a nervous breakdown.

Yay for color copying, my husband has one for work and I only have to pay a bit over cost price for an A3 copy (20cents!), have been photocopying my favorite knitted toy to put in a painting/collage. Love the WW Cake book we just had the number 4. Love love love your fabrics, and your bright site looks so great.
