Can't chat now

Sally2

Cheeky1

I have so many things to do right now I don't know where to start... I owe people emails & mail left right and centre... sorry. Unfortunately when this happens I tend to freeze up and do none of the things on my URGENT list ... and instead I cut up fabric ... play ... read inspirational mags... and wait for the prioritising to happen... Do I package up all my artclass kids work for the end of term, take down my shop fit out ready for Morphe II, make my own toys for the exhibition, go out and promote the exhibition, mail out enrolment forms to new artclass kids or just sew up those pieces of fabric I cut out the other day? But not to worry, I always get it done AND on time.. sort of.

Pieces

Patchwork

Did I ever mention that to my horror, Lily looooves PINK! not that there is anything wrong with pink but EVERYTHING pink ...come on!! She has picked out most of the above fabrics for that quilt I am supposed to be making... I hope to some how sneek a few other colours in there.

By the way congratulations to Belinda who was not only the first person to answer the questions from last week but also get them all correct! I will have to make the next friendly competition a bit tougher I think.

Blossom

Blossom1

Blossom is almost three and has developed this very curious condition that we like to call 'selective hearing'.... I am sure you have heard of it too. I know someone else who has also just developed the very same condition. Blossom is an Australian native, koala who can think of nothing better to do than climb up the highest of gum trees .... this seems to make her condition all the worse.

After making her I thought that she looked a little like she could be a Stevo tribute. I first learned of Steve Irwin when I was over in the US and like many Australians I was outraged! How could they let him over there convincing the Americans that this is what we are like? but of course it wasn't about us .... and I didn't learn that for another 2 years until after I got back. I had no idea he was a conservationist & zoo keeper and a damn good one at that... I quickly changed my mind after seeing a candid interview on Enough Rope, in 2003... and secretly thought he was a real top bloke .. even a bit of a cutey... if only we were all a bit more like Stevo....

ok. onto some more crafting

Blythdress

Striking a pose in a dress made from a pattern I found here... I love this website!

And now for a little friendly competition

Be the first person to guess correctly who made these 3 toys ....

Competition

Please put your answers in the comments box and I will check back on Sunday night to see if anyone has all three correct. All the tips you need are over at the Morphe II Blog.

The first very clever person to get them all correct will win a panel of Sprout Design sample fabric (valued at $55 AUD) and most likely a bunch of other cool stuff.... what ever I can stuff in the bag!

Sgfabric2

Don't you just loooove the chocolate spot fabric too!

Sgfabric1

Good Luck! Oh and sorry to those participating in the exhibition ... you can't play ... unfair advantage....

Choccythanks

Michelle even popped a scrumptious block of my fave Lindt choccy in for luck I am sure!(how did you know I love the lemon and almond??) It didn't last long, I nibbled on it as I was busy mailing out piles of postcards today. Thanks Michelle xxx

I have also been meaning to show off the super cute and fun colouring book & stickers that vegas and venice sent me ages ago... I just can't get a good shot of the white paper... I have pinched this much better pic from her etsy shop. Lily is just itching to get her unsteady hands to those adorable illustrations... I don't know if I can bare it...

Vegasandvenice

and to finish off for the week here is Lily enjoying herself at the Royal Adelaide Show... she has never seen fairy floss (cotton candy... for those in the US) in her short little life.. can you tell?

Postcard2

Postcard3

I have 20 of these to give away... 10 to Aussie readers and 10 to overseas readers (and those in the exhibition will obvoiusly get a little stash so please don't add yourself to this list)... the first 20 comments will get an email from me asking for your mailing address. UPDATE There are 2 left for Australians only... Wow you guys are quick!! If you commented today and live in Australia but didn't get an email ... just email me and let me know... it's hard to know where some of you live by your email address' but I guessed those with a .com where in the US. All gone...Thank you all for being so super keen, it makes me feel that all my efforts are well worth it. Sorry if you missed out on a card, I will make them available to purchase in my online shop... super cheap, just to cover postage.

We had Fathers Day on Sunday and since Chris works on Sunday, I shut up the shop early on Saturday for a family drive down to the Fleureau Peninsula to check out the Southernright whales who are having their babies in the warm waters this time of year. Have a look at this great photo that Fiona has of a whale frolicking ... that is what you could see from the beach!

And because it is also Royal Show time here in Adelaide this week, Lily and I are going to wander down to see the farm animals on display in the petting area today... and I will try my best to get us out of there without spending a bucket on all the gimicky showbags and fake food... I am not that mean though.... I am sure we will both enjoy a little fairy floss and a ride on the carousel.
