What do you know

Blythe4

I learnt something new yesturday... my very average digi camera (that I use for happy snaps and blogging only) has a zoom function! I pefer to take photos with my good old Pentax k-1000, yes it is basic and ancient in camera years but boy it takes a good photo... however after Moopy was born I found I was taking 2-3 films a week and it was costing me a small fortune to develop them..... so digital seemed like a good option... you can see your beautiful baby lit up on screen instantly. Then blogging came along shortly after and well... need I say more.

So long lesson short... I was very excited by the prospect of taking photos of small things and decided to make a tiny Kitten. I have given the kitten to Ava. Who is Ava? Well when I discovered blogs early 2004, I also discovered Blythe.. and just had to have one.... then I found out that they cost a whole weeks rent! Finally early last year I caved and got one sent over from Japan..(I couldn't find any here in Australia) of course we had to eat toast for a week. I think it was the idea of taking those fun photos and making her little toys that captured my imagination. Needless to say, dressing my own real life baby and making her toys took over and Ava never did have her portrait taken.

Lily saw Ava up high on the shelf in my studio yesturday and I thought it time to bring her down. We brushed her hair, made a new hair clip, dressed her and made a new skirt... lots of girly girly fun!

It has been really fun doing something completey different, very relaxing, almost like having a mini craft holiday :D However now Ava will definately need some new boots for winter... and a new hat.. Lily says she needs a pink coat too...

More zooming action

This also has me dreaming of new cameras... what camera to you use or dream of using?

I'm in the market for a new digital camera too, since the split. The camera went with him... Love to hear your recommendations.

My blythe dolls are usually very sweet and sensitive but they are down right jealous right now *smile*

Most loveliest blythe goodies ever... EVER!

Cute teeny things! That bird clip is really sweet. We must be drinking the same water or something because I was only just thinking this morning that I'd like to make some little toys to go with the larger ones.

Everyone should have at least one Blythe girl!

I use the zoom constantly with my camera. I don't actually use any other function! I love Blythe of course and I think one of the main reasons is because it is such a relaxing hobby. I love the little kitten! I am so glad you like the roly poly doll too.

I dream of getting back to my old Pentax!!!! Which is in England at the moment!!! As you say, these digitals are great for kids and blogging...and thats it.

I love the little moopy doll and Melissa's babushka doll, and all the handworked details. So tiny and gorgeous!

The tiny kitten is lovely and so are Ava's clothes! You make the most wonderful things! :)

Regarding digital cameras, I can highly recommend Canon EOS 350D. I have one of my own and it's super (and it has a great zoom...)!

Oooh very cool, she looks adorable, I bet that was lots of fun making her accessories! I want a digital camera heaps. I love my SLR too, but the film developing thing (and the large and bulky size thing) can be a pain - although the photos as a general rule turn out better ;) I guess one of those super-expensive zoom-lens digicams would be the best sort :D

Oooh. We have the same Blythe (I love you it's True)! I just got a new camera and I love it...just can't recall the name but it has a great macro function and a leica lense.

so cute! I love the tiny animals--and I, too, just figured out the zoom function exists on my camera. Whee!

ohhhh!!! cute in a tiny size!!! very beautifull, all the Ava's gift!!!

oh my god, how cute is that bird clip!!!!

Grr why didn't mum tell me you owned a blythe doll!!! No fair! :( Sorry I just need to settle on that fact for a moment... (I am soooo incredibly jealous!)

i love your new doll, carly!!

I loved my K-1000, what a great SLR. I have not found a digital that I can recommend, yet.

wow... so much mini-cuteness! it's almost too much! really sweet!

So lovely! It is so much fun playing with the camera! Check my blog to see my big Moopy. Thanks for sharing the pattern.

Your digital camera seems like a quite nice one! What kind do you use?

I think the K-1000 was the first SLR I ever used. I now use the Canon EOS D60, if only I could afford the wide angle and the tilt and shift lens to go with it....a girl can dream!

Love the zoomies... I have a regular film Pentax MZ-6 (SLR) that I got a few years ago (half for Christmas from my parents, half paid by me), and then last summer I bought an Olympus Camedia digital camera. I love love love the Pentax, but unfortunately can't afford to develop film in my current situation. So I use my digital all the time, but it doesn't take nearly as nice pics. :(

That clip is too sweet. Little girl ones would be lovely too.
