Newcheekym

I finished up Cheeky Moopy #2 today ... I love the circus fabric too Gina, I buy lots of my fabric from Kitty Craft .... we can all curse at Lyn for that :D ...she introduced me to the shop and now I can't stop... And look she is even chatting about it right now ... we understand!

Newcheekym2

I am going to pop Cheeky Moopy #2 in the shop later on if anyone is interested (Sold thank you). Do you see that little plant in the background up there... that is Lily's and my attempt at planting a pineapple ... Don't you all just love checking out what Claire & Big P have come up with for entertaining/educating the little ones (& big ones too). I am very excellent at killing plants, without even trying mind you, so we are all interested to see what happens with this pineapple...

I was chatting with Bek over at the shop yesturday and we both agreed (because you are all so wonderful) that bloggers (and blog lurkers) should get three Skipping Girl cards for the price of two... don't you think! So no matter where you live in the world it will be a mere $12 AUD for three perfectly cute gift cards, that includes postage. Go on you deserve a treat.

Cards are here!

We had a family day out this week, we drove over to McLaren Vale (wine region) for some afternoon tea and a bit of wondering. First stop was Blessed Cheese, where we ate way to much... and Moopy snuck around the table pinching things off our plates... she was welcome to eat from them but I think the fun part was darting around the table looking cheeky...

Blessedcheese2

I had no intension on shopping but there was a cute little op shop and a shop with shoes and a shop with wool! Then we drove on to Willunga for a coffee at the WillyHill Cafe, nice atmosphere.

Wool4

The woman who sold me the wool also happened to be the owner of the goats that made the wool... she has a great eye for colour, the wool is like a mohair/cashmere..... Chris picked these out for me to knit him a beeny..

I know I am a day early but I never get to join in on Friday because I am at the Shop all day, here is my WIP ... another Cheeky Moopy... the other one sold before it got a chance to hit the Shop (thank you)

Cheeky Moopy

UPDATE at the bottom .... new fun photo's

Cheekymoopy4

This cheeky bunny likes to poke out her tongue and count to 1, 2... 3, 5, 8...9 10!!

Much like the real life Moopy... she has been giving her mummy something to giggle about. We having been getting a bit of lip lately.... I am dumb founded as to what to say when a polite request is assertively refused with a "NO!".. holding back the laughter, I will fumble out a "Mummy will count to three and then she will ...(insert threat here)... Ooonnne.." then little miss chimes in with a cheeky "ONE TWO THREE!!(and sometimes a bit of FIVE EIGHT NINE TEN!)" of her own! Ha! funnily enough, she gets off the chair (or puts on her jumper, takes off her shoes...etc.) on THREE. I think she thinks you have to wait for the THREE to go ahead and do what you're asked. I am sure the tongue poking will come soon enough..

Well I really did have alot of other work to catch up on tonight (due to taking time out from a bump on the head) but got side tracked with my cheeky Moopy idea... I really like this one... might have to make a few more...or even put this one in the exhibition? ..Bump on head you ask? Yes I stupidly wacked my head very very badly last Sunday afternoon and am still suffering from the headache a week later... so it's off to the hospital for a scan on Tuesday to see if there is any actual damage... I am sure it's nothing but a big headache though.. If one can operate a sewing machine and teach a class of 2 & 3 year olds one must be ok... apparently it is not unusual to have a headache this long from a blow to the head... Oh, how did I bump my head you ask? ... well I stood up underneith a big wooden shelf in our laundry...I have no idea why I would do that ... the shelf has always been there.. I think the shelf was telling me to slow down a minute...

Here is a little more close up action... a matchbox house... I must remember to show you the matchbox car book I found at an op shop.. illustrated by the wonderful M Sasek... or did I already show that? mmmm

What do you know

Blythe4

I learnt something new yesturday... my very average digi camera (that I use for happy snaps and blogging only) has a zoom function! I pefer to take photos with my good old Pentax k-1000, yes it is basic and ancient in camera years but boy it takes a good photo... however after Moopy was born I found I was taking 2-3 films a week and it was costing me a small fortune to develop them..... so digital seemed like a good option... you can see your beautiful baby lit up on screen instantly. Then blogging came along shortly after and well... need I say more.

So long lesson short... I was very excited by the prospect of taking photos of small things and decided to make a tiny Kitten. I have given the kitten to Ava. Who is Ava? Well when I discovered blogs early 2004, I also discovered Blythe.. and just had to have one.... then I found out that they cost a whole weeks rent! Finally early last year I caved and got one sent over from Japan..(I couldn't find any here in Australia) of course we had to eat toast for a week. I think it was the idea of taking those fun photos and making her little toys that captured my imagination. Needless to say, dressing my own real life baby and making her toys took over and Ava never did have her portrait taken.

Lily saw Ava up high on the shelf in my studio yesturday and I thought it time to bring her down. We brushed her hair, made a new hair clip, dressed her and made a new skirt... lots of girly girly fun!

I actually bought one of Melissa's cute tiny babushka dolls at last years Morphe exhibition (the only thing I bought) with Ava in mind.... finally they meet

It has been really fun doing something completey different, very relaxing, almost like having a mini craft holiday :D However now Ava will definately need some new boots for winter... and a new hat.. Lily says she needs a pink coat too...

More zooming action

This also has me dreaming of new cameras... what camera to you use or dream of using?

Check out the talent!!

MORPHE II Participants

oh boy am I sleepy, after much nail biting I managed to (just) get the list down to 30... (well 33... I had trouble people big trouble!!) this has been one of the hardest things I have had to do... I want all those who applied but didn't quite make it, to know that I looove you all but my shop really is tiny and I am worried about how I might fit 90 odd toys in let alone any more.... I think it might be a good idea for Morphe to move to bigger places next year so that I can fit you all in.

check them all out over at my shop... as in click here

I am going to bed now and will chat more about all the excitement after a good nights sleep.

Oh and if you applied and you havn't heard from me via email... well that is no good .. please email me so we can work out what happened?
