One of the perks

Lilyhair2

Moopy is wearing her new Schnappi t-shirt that mum brought back (amongst millions of other fun stuff).

It might be a little childish but I had always imagined (pre-Moopy) playing with my daughters hair. Unfortunately I was blessed with a little girl who will have NONE of that thanks mum! That was until the playdate with Audrey, Fiona let me in on a secret that no other mother has been willing to share with me before (nor did I really ask anyone before in fear of being glared at). Are you ready... listen up those of you who have little girls who insist on pulling out ponytails and tugging on pigtails.... you use tiny eansy weany hair bands that are kind of rubbery.... I suspect these don't get pulled out because if you are not careful you can tug out the entire ponytail.... they don't dare touch them! cruel? No, CUTE! It has just made my job as mum that little bit more fun.

A public appology to my backtack buddy who through my stupidity knows who I am... duh! Look away now BTB!! She is a knitter so putting together her parcel is soooo much fun ... F A B R I C ... this is just the begining... she will be knocking up softies in no time.

see you in a couple of weeks :)

Catching up

seems to be all that I do lately, catching up on work, catching up on laundry, catching up on Moopy cuddles..... I never feel on top of 'THE' list, there is just not enough time in the day to get it all done. Maybe my list ('lista' if mum is reading) is too long? It's like that dream you have where you are running for the toilet but it never seems to get any closer.... or maybe thats just my dream... probably best I don't reach that toilet till I wake up anyway!

How perfect is this! Thanks Molly chicken

And I was the very lucky recipient of one of Fiona's pincushions (plus a fun bunch of fabric)

A crazy 25 kittens.... Chris and I were sitting watching TV the night before all these guys headed off to Melbourne, they were perched up on the bookcase looking at us, when Chris says "do you think they will attack us?"

A very big thank you for all the supportive, encouraging words of congratulations regarding Nest Studio's big grand shop opening (December 1), most of the butterflies have flown away but there are a couple fluttering around in my tummy and I think they will be there to stay until the big day. I will keep you all posted.

We are heading up the east coast for a little beach side holiday in a few weeks so we thought it appropriate that Moopy wear her very own pair of Australian iconic fashion (made in Brazil) while trekking in the sand. She is having a little trouble wrapping her toes around the straps ... but we think she will get the hang of it... especially since she is insisting on taking them to bed with her for afternoon naps!?

Other fun news for all you crafty gals out there.... drum roll please.... Nest Studio is moving premisis to it's very own studio with a shop front! I have butterflies just writing that down. Currently I share a space with the very talented Bek of One Small Room and Closet, the combination of our spaces has been a perfect match but the time has come for us both to move ahead.... So I am proposing that anyone who thinks their handmade goodies suit the Nest Studio art class and children's environment.. I welcome them to submit their work (email pics to carlyschwerdt at yahoo dot com dot au) to see if we can get a fantabulous selection of fun, unique items to sell in the new Nest Studio (actual real life) shop.

Happy Fathers Day

Lemons

I left the house early this morning to do a bit of thrift shopping before classes started so I thought these lemons needed a little help defending themselves in my absense. They will hopefully look like this tomorrow for Father Day afternoon tea.....

Lemontart

I recently splashed out on a fabulous new french cook book which has re-newed my passion for the kitchen (that I thought that had long gone ...into our compost heap). A couple of weekends ago I cooked up a fancy rolled spinach white wine and bacon pork roast.... Yum. I am however now addicted to all things french and picked up these well loved books for a few cents..... I love the end papers.
