Self portrait Tuesday

Selfportraite1

It could be a filter but really it's the light catching in all the DUST! And just to even things out here is a pic of Moopy this morning ...thinking to herself...'what happens when I touch this button?'

Camilla has two new crocheted cuties!! QUICK ... They have probably gone already..

I was curious to find out how much easier a bigger version of Fancy pants bunny would be... so I made Circus pants while Chris took Moopy for a walk down at the beach... and yes, she was a lot easier. Here is a pic of the pants happy couple for size comparison.

I have never re-done a post before and I am not sure if it actually is the done thing? but these photos are much nicer... here are all the kittens I made for a catalogue that is coming soon!

Fancy pants

Fancypantsbunny

Back to the machine today, it feels good. A new bunny who is made in the same style as the monkey and frog ..very fiddly ... I think I will try making it larger next time to ease the frustration.... I couldn't get the stuffing where stuffing was needed.

Largekitten

The big sister version of my kittens is here.... lots of fun to make as I can arrange the vintage fabric to include more of the design. Here is a photo of her with little sister so you can see the size increase.

I finally got a chance to visit the Gallery this week to see the Fiona Hall exhibition... ahhh! How inspiring... knitting video tape into toys that then sparkle in the light, fashioning a coconut tree out of a sardine can and Budda out of a Coke can... (obviously pointing out our materialistic, consumerist, throw away society amongst other issues). It made me feel as if she was validating the craft work we do...

Wallpaper parcels

Parcels

I knew I would think of something to do with all this wallpaper I have been collecting...recently I have been wrapping peoples birthday presents and parcels with it...nice. Other things collected recently are thrifted monkey pod bowls and platters (click on 'home accessories' then 'monkey pod' ) that were most likely handcrafted in the 70's (I can hear my mum shreaking all the way from Germany.."Oh god we used to have those back in the day"), a telephone seat crafted in 1978, a japanese bowl (pink and orange), very cute children's book without text and I rescued the giraffe (for the artroom as we are doing clay sculpture this term) from a plant nursery that is closing down.

Speaking of Germany, thanks to all of you who suggested such fun stuff for my mum to bring back...lets hope she finds some of it and then I might be able to share some ... I said might!

I havn't been doing much in the way of crafting lately but I can show you who has...here are some swapping goodies from Hope... stunning papercrafts, Laurie... lucky me... lots of adorable pins (don't you just love the way she photographs her work!) and Shell ... oh so cute kitten plus if you live in Adelaide you would have seen me sporting this new bag.. Thanks girls!

Excuseme

As I sneeze all over my computer screen, I wonder if sending Moopy off to the big bad world of germs was really such a good idea...we all seem to be getting sick at least twice a month.... my mum tells me it won't be long now and she will fight all the bugs away. And excuse me again with my deepest appologies to those waiting for parcels....they should arrive shortly.

I am going to take a nap now, hopefully my ever growing list of things that must be done will give me a break for a few hours....it's funny how we put the pressure on to get this stuff done .... no one is telling me to do it but still I create these massive deadlines?

My mum, oma and aunty are all flying out to Berlin next week and mum really wants me to give her a little list of things to bring back for Moopy & me (and chris too) but I am stumped? has anyone got any ideas of some really fun stuff they know of that you can really only buy in Germany? Any books? fabric? anything?
