Felting fun

Another creativity night success....well I think so.
I found out that the only place to get fleece here in Adelaide (other than packing a lunch box and traveling out to the hills or the vales) is right smack bang down the road from my house! yes that's right walking distance.... all i have to do is become a member of the spinners and weavers guild this Saturday and all that fleece can be mine for a fraction of the cost of making orders online to Melbourne.

So this is my finger puppet (Martha Stewart kids 2001...yes I have been hording them for that long) and some experiments just plain felting. Very addictive ...i got up this morning and made the blue and red piece.

And moopy has ventured into the world of 'big girl' pajamas...bath, bunny, dummy and I'm ready for bed

Wonky donkey

Wonky_donky

A little softy that the easter bunny made this evening ...just in time... for moopy to find easter morning.
I actually used a pattern (for the first time ever, cheers ottobre.fi) and tried to stick to it but as you can see it looks a little more like a puppy than a donkey. The fabric was found at a little secret spot where I like to search for vintage bits and bobs.. unlike the following lushious pic of three brand new '3 sisters' fabrics and a little blue number from 'everything but the kitchen sink' Yah!
Of course there is no project lined up, other than to see how tall I can grow my pile of yummy fabrics.

All is well in the land of broadband

Oh lawdy! has life been tough for all those around me... THE INTERNET WAS DOWN! I didn't realise just how much of a puter dork I truely was until 4 days ago when tragedy of all tragedies .. i had no signal.. no hissing and whuring... just utter silence. I spent 3 sleepless nights plotting ways to somehow correct this with out any tech skills what so ever. I waved the white flag at 11am Wednesday and called Tim the techman, he has now rescued me from certain insanity and I am surfing faster than ever before.
The Wednesday night crafting crew (not actually our name) have been crafting up a storm.. double coated tim-tams all round.
Here is a peak at my efforts (credits to Hillary)

We keep trying to explain to moopy that the Easter bunny is coming but since her security blanket also happens to be a bunny she is just slightly confused .... at every mention of the word Easter bunny she simply hears the word BUNNY and runs off in search for her cuddle buddy.. mmm maybe next year.
Until then... happy easter

Where's the green sheep

Lily_sheep_4

We're back! Yah I have my blog up for real now...testing stage is well and truely over and some time has passed .... many months infact, but the decision has been made to get this baby rocking.

Lily had her first appearance at a festival show today ... as part of the audience of "Where is the green sheep" a Windmill/Mem Fox/Come Out production. It was so much fun for Oma and I to watch her enjoy all the sheep looking, clapping and dancing. Not to mention all the children watching.. Lily was at times more interested in being friends with absolutely everyone rather than the green sheep hunting.

Bek's funky store 'closet' was on everyones tongues as Lily paraded around in her vintage kimono...Yah for Bek and Kit Cat & Hudson who make the exquisite garments. And while I'm plugging these awesome gals....Nest Studio is taking the plunge into the big world of leases and starting up art classes for children at the very hip strip, Queen Street, Croydon (also known as 20 Elizabeth Street). So all you toddlers, kiddlies and juniors out there, enrol for a term packed with all the art experiences you can handle.
